The board of directors of Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam has appointed Giovanni Pascale Langer as CEO. Paolo Pascale Langer, who has guided Tecnam in recent decades, assumes the position of president.
Under the leadership of Paolo Pascale, Tecnam has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers in general aviation, with over 8,500 aircraft delivered in more than 60 countries. “In the cockpit, when handing over the controls, we say ‘You have control’. Today I say it to Giovanni, with confidence and pride,” he says. “He learned this trade from the ground up and over the years has become a recognised leader by our customers, our partners and our people, in Italy and around the world. He has the competence, the vision and the character to keep Tecnam flying with the ambition and determination to go ever further. I will remain by his side.”
Born in 1991, Giovanni Pascale joined Tecnam as an apprentice assembler, working on the production line and in various company departments. A commercial pilot, having earned his licence in the US and then in Italy, he combines industrial knowledge of the product with that of someone who flies it every day. Appointed managing director in 2019, he worked alongside Paolo Pascale in the management of the company, leading commercial development in international markets, from Australia to the US, from India to South America, and directly overseeing the operations at its headquarters in Capua, Italy and at Tecnam US. Since then, he has made a decisive contribution to the company’s commercial and revenue growth. In October 2019, he personally flew across the Atlantic from Capua to Boston at the controls of the twin-engine P2012 Traveller to deliver the first unit to the launch customer.
As CEO, Giovanni Pascale will lead Tecnam into a new phase of growth, with four priorities: strengthening international positioning; expanding the offer of products and services; accelerating digitalisation; and evolving industrial processes.
“Today our history is no longer measured by how we started, but by how far we have come,” says the new CEO. “And the road ahead of us is even more ambitious. We want Tecnam to be the global benchmark in general aviation: the aircraft on which the new generation of pilots trains, the one that connects territories where large carriers do not reach, the one that carries the signature of Italian quality wherever it lands. We have the people, the products and the credibility to do it. I thank Paolo and the entire board of directors for the trust they have placed in me in handing over the controls.”
