Duncan Aviation has added a Global nose landing gear (NLG) to its rental inventory to help customers minimise AOG downtime while their own landing gear is removed for inspection, repair or restoration.
The rental NLG, part number 22175-109, is available for several Global models, including the 5000, 5000 GVFD, 5500, 6000, 6500, Express and Express XRS. It can support aircraft grounded due to an AOG circumstance such as an over-toe condition, hard landing, excessive steering play or another maintenance issue requiring removal of the NLG.
Duncan Aviation’s airframe rapid response teams are also available to assist with landing gear R&R services, installing the rental gear and removing the customer’s gear when needed. Once installed, customers can quickly return their aircraft to service while the landing gear team works on their own NLG.
“Having a rental gear available gives customers another option when their aircraft needs landing gear maintenance,” says Sasha Orth, Duncan Aviation landing gear sales representative. “They can continue flying while our team focuses on returning their gear to service.”
Once the customer’s gear arrives at Duncan Aviation, technicians perform a comprehensive teardown and inspection. Customers receive a detailed report outlining the gear's condition and available maintenance options, allowing them to review discrepancies and make informed repair decisions.
Much of the work is completed in-house, including painting, inspections, machining and parts support. When needed, technicians completely disassemble and inspect the gear, reseal and repaint components and inspect wiring, providing a clean, ready-to-install assembly. Components are repaired and restored where possible to avoid unnecessary replacement costs, while detailed life-limit records and not-to-exceed pricing help customers plan ahead.
Repairs and restorations are backed by a warranty of three years or 1,000 cycles for workmanship and two years or 1,000 cycles for materials on repaired or restored items.
