Global Jet Capital forecasts $247bn in transactions through 2030
Heavy jet transactions are expected to grow faster than other categories as buyers prioritise range and cabin capacity.

Global Jet Capital has published its sixth annual Business Jet Market Forecast, projecting $247 billion in new and pre-owned transaction volume between 2026 and 2030. The report forecasts transaction dollar volume growing at an average annualised rate of 4.1 per cent over the period, built on Global Jet Capital's proprietary transaction forecast model.

The forecast covers deliveries and pre-owned activity across all aircraft size categories through 2030, with heavy jets expected to grow fastest as buyers favour greater range and capacity. New heavy jet transaction volume is projected to rise 3.3 per cent, with pre-owned heavy jet volume up 4.9 per cent. New medium jet and pre-owned VLJ transactions are also forecast to grow faster than the market average. For 2026 alone, the number of transactions is expected to increase 3.6 per cent, with transaction dollar volume up 5.5 per cent, and transaction numbers are forecast to grow at an average annual rate of 2.8 per cent across the five-year period.

Andrew Farrant, chief marketing officer, says: “Demand for business jets has strengthened alongside rising flight activity, which increased 3.4 per cent year on year in the first half of 2026. We project OEMs will steadily increase deliveries to fulfil high backlogs, but lead times will remain long, leading to increased pre-owned market activity for buyers with immediate needs.”

North America is expected to remain the largest business jet market over the next five years. Latin America is forecast to be the second-largest market, driven by strong demand for pre-owned jets, while Europe is expected to remain an important market for new aircraft.
