JSSI has appointed Mark Cobb as director of customer field support, EMEA and APAC, bringing nearly two decades of European business aviation experience to lead the technical team managing airframe and engine maintenance events across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The appointment completes the two-region structure of JSSI's field support organisation, following the naming of David Schmitt as director for the Americas.
The regional model positions JSSI teams closer to the operators they support, with dedicated regional expertise, faster response times and stronger local relationships with vendors and OEMs. JSSI's technical services organisation spans more than 70 technical advisors and a global network of over 600 MROs, primarily supporting the company's Hourly Cost Maintenance (HCM) clients across thousands of aircraft worldwide. For clients, that means the people managing their maintenance events are grounded in the realities of their region and their fleet.
“Mark brings exactly the depth we want leading field customer support in EMEA and APAC, across aircraft management, maintenance and customer support of business aviation. With Mark and David now in place, our customers on both sides of the world have experienced regional leaders close to their operations, their fleets, and the vendors and authorities they rely on,” says Alexis Javkin, executive vice president, maintenance operations and procurement, technical services, JSSI.
Cobb has spent more than 15 years in leadership roles at Avcon Jet, one of Europe's leading business jet operators. As director of project management, he oversaw the integration of more than 90 aircraft into the fleet, building relationships across the full field of business aviation while maintaining a high standard of support for owners throughout their aircraft operation. Earlier, as managing director and Postholder Continuing Airworthiness at Avcon Jet Malta, he was immersed in every facet of business jet operations, working closely with OEMs and EASA authorities. He also served as managing director of Pyxis Aviation Group, an independent aircraft sales organisation focused on worldwide business jet sales, and most recently worked as an ASR on new aircraft sales for Gulfstream in Austria, giving him a direct understanding of how the major OEMs operate.
Cobb's operational discipline was built well before his commercial roles, through on-type engineering training and nearly two decades of hands-on airworthiness and operations leadership. He holds a technical diploma in Aviation from the FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria, and trained as a mechanical and aeronautical engineer at HTL Eisenstadt. Based just outside Vienna, he will continue to operate from his existing base as the anchor point for JSSI's engagement across EMEA and APAC.
