Sky X has officially opened the doors to its stunning new facility at Louisiana’s Hammond Northshore Regional airport, marking the completion of the first phase of a nearly two-year development project.
Sky X claims to be the region’s only FBO offering FAA/DOT-approved maintenance, an AOG rapid response team, an FAA-certified repair station and FAA Part 135 charter operations, all on-site. Prior to opening its new terminal, the company started FBO operations late last year out of its existing avionics facility.
The centrepiece of the new facility is a 10,000sq ft FBO terminal with an elegant lobby combining premium finishes and modern architecture. It features an upscale passenger lounge, a fully equipped executive conference room with seating for 14 and full A/V, a private movie theatre, a recreation lounge with a pool table, private shower suites and a complimentary beverage bar.
Supporting the terminal is a 30,000sq ft hangar providing secure, premium storage for both transient and based aircraft. The hangar is capable of accommodating a Global 8000.
Phase two of construction is slated for completion in autumn 2026 and will feature two additional 30,000sq ft hangars, each also capable of accommodating a Global 8000.
“Our new facility represents an exciting new chapter for Sky X and reinforces our commitment to delivering a world-class experience tailored to our customers’ needs,” says owner Rob Scariano. “From our modern amenities and expansive hangar space to our tailored concierge support, every aspect of our operation was designed with customers in mind. We look forward to welcoming them to the new standard of aviation service in Louisiana's Greater Gulf Region.”
