The Phoenix Police Department has placed an order for a new Airbus H145 helicopter, further strengthening one of the US' premier airborne law enforcement programmes, in association with Davenport Aviation.
The addition of the H145 reflects the department's continued investment in modern aviation capabilities that enhance public safety, operational readiness and mission effectiveness. Designed to support a wide range of airborne law enforcement operations, the H145 will provide exceptional performance, advanced technology and increased mission flexibility for years to come.
The Phoenix metropolitan area presents one of the nation's most demanding operating environments, where extreme heat, mountainous terrain and expansive urban and desert landscapes require aircraft capable of exceptional performance and reliability. The new H145 will join the Phoenix Police Department's existing fleet of Airbus H125 helicopters, adding a twin-engine capability to complement the department's already extensive airborne operations. Together, the fleet will enhance the department's ability to support complex search and rescue missions, tactical operations and public safety response across the Valley.
“We're honoured to continue supporting the Phoenix Police Department as it invests in the future of its aviation programme,” says Rob McMillin, vice president of aircraft and aircraft systems at Davenport Aviation. “The H145 is an exceptional platform for the demanding missions Phoenix performs every day, and we're proud to help deliver an aircraft that will serve the department and its community for years to come.”
Home to one of the largest law enforcement helicopter fleets in the US, the Phoenix Police Department continues to invest in modern aviation capabilities that strengthen mission readiness and operational safety. The addition of the H145 builds on an already proven Airbus fleet, providing enhanced redundancy, increased mission flexibility and expanded capability for the department's most demanding public safety operations.
Davenport Aviation, a provider of high-performance aircraft, components and mission equipment to government and public safety agencies worldwide and Airbus' authorised reseller to the US Government, will support the Phoenix Police Department throughout the acquisition process, with aircraft delivery anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2028. Aircraft completion and mission equipment integration will be performed by Hangar One Avionics in Carlsbad, California, ensuring the aircraft is mission-ready and fully configured to meet the department's operational requirements upon delivery.
