Joby Aviation has signed a lease for 45,000 sq ft at Alliance Air Trade Center in Haslet, part of Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport, developer Hillwood has confirmed.

The site sits within Hillwood's 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development and represents the first significant north Texas presence by an eVTOL aircraft manufacturer. Joby, which develops eVTOL aircraft for commercial passenger transportation, plans to use the base to begin flights under the eIPP programme across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and wider Texas market. The location connects Joby to AllianceTexas' multimodal transportation infrastructure and a regional workforce already established around the airport.

Greg Bowles, Joby Aviation's chief policy officer, says: “I first visited Perot Field two decades ago, and it was clear even back then that this airport would grow into a cornerstone of aviation for the region. This site gives us a base to demonstrate the value of air mobility services across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the state.”

Samuel Rhea, vice president at Hillwood, adds: “Welcoming Joby to AllianceTexas reflects our ability to pair flexible real estate solutions with the resources forward-looking companies need to grow.”

Perot Field is described by Hillwood as the first industrial airport purpose-built for cargo and corporate aviation and forms the aviation anchor of AllianceTexas, which also includes one of the country's larger intermodal hubs. The development is home to 602 companies and 73,134 direct jobs across 66.7 million sq ft of commercial real estate, with a cumulative regional economic impact estimated at $142.9 billion since 1989. Christopher Ash, president of Alliance Aviation Companies, has said the lease helps validate the integration of eVTOL technology within the airport's Mobility Innovation Zone.
