SEA Prime, manager of the business and general aviation infrastructure at Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports under the Milano Prime brand, has reported record traffic growth in the first half of 2026, with 18,200 movements and a 15 per cent increase at Linate Prime compared to the same period in 2025.

Over the six-month period, Italy confirmed itself as one of the sector's most dynamic markets, reaching third place in Europe for business aviation traffic with growth of 5.3 per cent, ahead of France and the UK, both of which recorded broadly stable traffic over the half-year. This result was underpinned by a packed calendar of international events in Milan and the strengthening of intercontinental routes, particularly to the US, which grew 39 per cent compared to the first half of 2025.

Among the events driving traffic were the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, which generated a 40 per cent increase in passengers transiting through Milano Prime, and the Milan Fashion Week, which saw visitor numbers rise 17.4 per cent year-on-year. The Milan Design Week also confirmed Milan's international standing, contributing to a 14 per cent increase in movements at Linate Prime compared to 2025.

Over the course of the half-year, Milano Prime terminals have once again proved to be a strategic, exclusive venue for events, product launches and business presentations in the business aviation sector. Major international events were held there, with leading brands such as Gulfstream, Dassault Aviation, JetFly and Comlux choosing Milano Prime to showcase their aircraft to clients and prospects.

At Malpensa Prime, use of the Fast Track service dedicated to VVIP passengers also continues to grow. In the first half of the year, this service was utilised by more than 3,600 passengers across 70 dedicated flights, including government delegations, international sports teams and touring artists.

For the second half of the year, SEA Prime is preparing to welcome the traffic flows linked to the Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Milan Fashion Week, benefitting from the expansion of the Milano Linate Prime terminal, inaugurated in March 2026.
