Hop-A-Jet has added a Gulfstream G280 to its fleet, growing the Fort Lauderdale Executive airport-headquartered operator’s flight services and management portfolio.

The aircraft has completed onboarding for inclusion on Hop-A-Jet’s FAA Part 135 certificate and is currently under final FAA review. It is expected to enter charter service in the near future, putting one of business aviation’s most sought-after super midsize aircraft within reach of travellers. The addition follows last month’s inclusion of a Cessna Citation X under management, which expanded Hop-A-Jet’s aircraft management portfolio beyond its traditional Bombardier fleet, with further aircraft types expected to join throughout 2026.

The G280 offers a range of up to approximately 3,600 nautical miles, a certified ceiling of 45,000 feet and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.84, capabilities designed to handle coast-to-coast missions across the United States. Its performance allows operators to connect major business centres and leisure destinations while retaining the flexibility expected in the super-midsize segment, making it well suited to the regional and transcontinental trips frequently requested by private aviation clients.

The cabin ranks among the largest in the super midsize category, with a stand-up design, flat floors and generous baggage capacity suited to business materials, golf clubs and skis alongside standard luggage. The G280 joins Hop-A-Jet during a period of fleet growth spanning both its charter and management operations. Alongside the Citation X addition to the managed fleet, the operator continues to invest in pilot training, maintenance capability and technical expertise beyond its established Learjet and Challenger platforms.
