Owners of HondaJet Classic and APMG aircraft in Mexico will be able to upgrade their aircraft following certification of the HondaJet APMG S performance upgrade package by the Agencia Federal de Aviación Civil (AFAC). The approval enables operators to incorporate performance and technology enhancements introduced on later variants of the platform, including the HondaJet Elite S. FAA certification was obtained in December 2025.
“We are excited to provide our customers in Mexico the opportunity to upgrade their aircraft with the advanced technology and performance of more recent iterations of the award-winning HondaJet,” says Amod Kelkar, senior VP and CCO at Honda Aircraft Company. “We are pursuing additional international certifications and hope to expand availability of the APMG S upgrade package to more HondaJet customers around the world soon.”
Honda Aircraft Company is offering the APMG S modification package through its service centre in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as its global network of 21 authorised service centres. Avemex is the official HondaJet distributor for Mexico, providing sales and MRO services, including support for the APMG S upgrade package. Several pre-owned HondaJet aircraft have also already been modified with APMG S upgrades and are available through the company’s pre-owned aircraft programme.
The APMG S upgrade package includes avionics software and hardware enhancements designed to improve processing speed and support future innovation across the legacy HondaJet fleet. The package also incorporates features from the HondaJet Elite S, including the Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), aimed at supporting handling precision and expanding crosswind capability.
As part of the upgrade, owners and operators also receive a 136kg (300lb) increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) compared with the unmodified HondaJet. This allows for greater operational flexibility and increased useful load. Additional features include Graphical Weight and Balance functionality, enabling pilots to input loading and fuel data to estimate takeoff and landing weights.
