Pro Star completes sixth 'On-the-Fly' Starlink installation
The company extends remote installation capability with latest Gulfstream G500 Starlink fit, supporting growing demand for flexible aircraft connectivity upgrades,
The most recent installation was carried out on a Gulfstream G500 at a customer’s facility.

Pro Star Aviation has completed its sixth “On-the-Fly” Starlink installation, continuing its focus on performing complex aircraft modifications at an operator’s home base rather than requiring relocation to a dedicated facility.

The company uses the term ‘On-the-Fly’ describe its ability to execute certified installations in the field with the same level of rigour as work performed in a fixed maintenance environment. This approach allows operators to avoid aircraft repositioning and align connectivity upgrades with scheduled maintenance or interior refurbishment. As demand for connectivity grows, this flexibility has become increasingly valuable.

The most recent installation was carried out on a Gulfstream G500 at a customer’s facility. It adds to a growing list of remote completions across multiple platforms, including the Gulfstream G450, Gulfstream G550 and Bombardier Global Express XRS.

“Completing these installations on the road allows customers to keep their aircraft where they operate,” says Jeff Shaw, Pro Star Aviation’s director of sales and marketing. “It minimises downtime, reduces the need for additional aircraft movement and gives operators greater flexibility when planning for upgrades.”

High-speed, low-latency connectivity is now a priority across business aviation, with Starlink increasingly used by operators as demand for reliable inflight connectivity continues to grow.

Pro Star Aviation says it remains focused on delivering flexible installation solutions that align with evolving technology and operator requirements, whether carried out at its facilities or directly in the field.

Pro Star Aviation, headquartered at Manchester-Boston Regional airport in New Hampshire with locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Portland, Maine, provides maintenance, modernisation, engineering and aircraft sales services for business aviation. A factory-authorised service centre for Dassault Falcon Jet, Embraer and Pilatus, it delivers MRO services and supports avionics upgrades, inflight connectivity solutions and special mission aircraft modifications. Pro Star is part of the Laughlin Family Aviation Group, founded in 1948, with additional operations in FBO, airline services and aircraft de-icing.
