Surf Air accelerates AI software push with SurfOS platform
Operational data from the company’s own airlines and charter businesses supports external software expansion across fragmented aviation markets.

Surf Air Mobility has detailed the commercial go-to-market strategy for SurfOS, its AI-enabled aviation software operating system powered by Palantir Technologies.

The company said SurfOS targets an estimated $156 billion opportunity spanning chartered air transport, private aircraft sales and the MRO aftermarket through a connected ecosystem designed to optimise aviation supply and demand.

SurfOS currently consists of BrokerOS, OperatorOS and SurfOS Enterprise Solutions, with each product aimed at different segments of the fragmented Part 135 charter and air mobility market.

Unlike software-only providers, Surf Air Mobility said every SurfOS product is first developed and validated internally within Southern Airways, Mokulele Airlines and Surf On Demand private charter operations before being offered commercially.

Liam Fayed, co-founder of Surf Air Mobility, says: “We are one of the only companies in the aviation industry that both builds the software and runs the operations. We have the data infrastructure in place on Palantir’s Foundry platform and are developing agentic workflows and automation faster than ever before. The results are evident from the improvements to our business and financial performance. This track record is what will allow us to successfully sell SurfOS based on measurable outcomes.”

Surf Air Mobility says federated operational data hosted within Palantir’s Foundry platform is enabling the development of AI agents designed to automate workflows including dynamic pricing, crew scheduling, aircraft sourcing and AOG recovery.

BrokerOS has been commercially live since December 2025 through the Powered by Surf On Demand programme, providing independent brokers with booking and operational tools. Surf Air Mobility said the platform delivered a 32% increase in bookings for top-performing brokers during Q1 2026 compared with Q1 2025 and expects BrokerOS to onboard 100 brokers by the end of 2026.

OperatorOS is scheduled for launch during the second half of 2026 for small and mid-sized Part 135 operators. Surf Air Mobility said it has 17 letters of intent and software agreements in its pipeline, while SurfOS Enterprise Solutions targets customised deployments and multi-year enterprise contracts during 2026 with support from Palantir engineers.
