Textron is celebrating 55 years of service at its Indianapolis customer service centre, which supports Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker operators across Indiana and the wider Midwest region.
The company says the milestone reflects the facility’s long-running role within Textron Aviation’s global support network and its continued focus on keeping customer aircraft flying.
“Reaching more than half a century of service in Indianapolis speaks to the trust our customers place in this team and the commitment our employees bring to their work every day,” says Chris Berry, general manager at Textron Aviation’s Indianapolis customer service centre. “Our focus has always been on providing dependable, high-quality support, and we're proud to continue serving customers as part of Textron Aviation's global service network.”
Textron Aviation traces its Indianapolis presence back to 1947, with the facility developing into a regional support hub for multiple aircraft manufacturers during the 1950s.
Beech Aircraft Corporation acquired the site in the early 1970s and established Indiana Beechcraft Inc., expanding its role as a full-service maintenance operation. Following several industry transitions, the facility became part of Textron Aviation in 2014.
The service centre relocated to its current Indianapolis International Airport facility in 2009 to support increasing customer demand.
Today, the operation includes a 74,000sq ft main hangar and a dedicated 7,800sq ft paint preparation and removal hangar, with capacity for between 12 and 15 aircraft depending on type.
The centre provides scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, avionics upgrades, interior refurbishment and repaint services for Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker aircraft. Aircraft-on-ground support is also available through Go Teams and mobile service units based at the facility.
