Hamburg-based Luminair has agreed terms with Textron for the purchase of nine Cessna Citation Latitudes, marking a significant expansion of its fleet.
The midsize jets will become the fourth aircraft type on fleet and will support the company’s continued growth and rising demand from its global network of private jet brokers. The first aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in late 2026, with the remaining deliveries expected through 2027.
The Latitude was selected to complement Luminair’s existing fleet of Citation XLS midsize jets and Falcon 900LX and 7X aircraft. The aircraft will strengthen Luminair’s midsize segment while enhancing operational flexibility across a wide range of missions.
Alexander Stevens, chief operating officer and founder of Luminair, says: “The introduction of the Citation Latitude marks an important milestone in our fleet strategy. We are scaling with purpose, expanding our capabilities while maintaining the steadfast commitment to safety and excellence our clients expect.”
Textron Aviation announced the agreement at AERO Friedrichshafen, noting the aircraft’s versatility, range and operating economics. “The Citation Latitude is exceptionally well suited to Luminair customers travelling across Europe, offering a spacious and comfortable cabin experience along with the reliability they need to make regional missions feel effortless, day after day,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, sales and marketing.
Configured with a stand-up, flat-floor cabin and space for up to nine passengers, the Citation Latitude is used across a variety of operations including corporate and personal travel, air ambulance, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, utility transport and other specialised missions. The aircraft is capable of flying non-stop routes such as Edinburgh to Larnaca, Riga to Tenerife and Helsinki to San Sebastián.
The aircraft offers a four-passenger range of 2,700 nautical miles (5,000 km) at high-speed cruise and a class-leading take-off field length of 1,091 metres, enabling operations from shorter runways.
Luminair, founded in 2024 by four former Air Hamburg colleagues, has grown rapidly since launching operations in November 2024 with a single aircraft. The company now operates 10 on its AOC, with five more set to be added in 2026. Based in Hamburg and employing 145 full-time staff, Luminair positions itself as a B2B partner for private jet brokers worldwide and continues to pursue expansion in fleet size.
