Tecnam P2006T NG lands for monitoring in Colombia
The first of the newly acquired P2006T NG aircraft will represent the official launch of the company's European operations under its Polish sister organisation, Ekolot. A second P2006T NG SMP will be shipped to Colombia.
The Tecnam P2006T NG SMP offers a highly efficient and cost-effective platform for specialised aviation.

Colombian aviation and technology company AviaTek Group, which already successfully operates a Tecnam P2012 Sentinel in South America, is now acquiring two new Tecnam P2006T NG Special Mission Platform (SMP) aircraft to enhance its global operational footprint.

This strategic acquisition bridges two continents. The first of the newly acquired P2006T NG aircraft will represent the official launch of the company's European operations under its Polish sister organisation, Ekolot. A second P2006T NG SMP is scheduled for delivery in March and will be shipped directly to Colombia. This milestone delivery will introduce the very first P2006T NG to the country, specifically tasked to support the extensive special mission contracts AviaTek holds throughout the Latin American region.

Luis Zapata, president and CEO of AviaTek Group, states: “The introduction of the Tecnam P2006T NG marks an important milestone for AviaTek and for Colombia. As a Colombian company, we are proud to pioneer the introduction of this new generation aircraft in the country, expanding the availability of modern special mission aviation platforms in the region. This acquisition strengthens AviaTek's operational capabilities and reinforces our commitment to supporting surveillance, environmental monitoring, risk management, disaster response and humanitarian operations across Latin America.”

The Tecnam P2006T NG SMP offers a highly efficient and cost-effective platform for specialised aviation. Arriving mission-ready, the aircraft is capable of adapting to a wide range of complex configurations while maintaining extraordinarily low operating costs compared to larger twin-engine alternatives. Its versatility, endurance and reliability make it perfectly suited for the demanding operational environments of Latin America, expertly handling coastal regions, tropical climates and diverse, challenging geographical conditions where flexibility is essential.

Walter Da Costa, Tecnam chief sales officer, celebrates the growing partnership: “We are honoured that AviaTek continues to place its trust in Tecnam to carry out such critical and demanding work. Moving from the P2012 Sentinel to expanding its fleet with two new P2006T NG SMPs demonstrates the unparalleled value, reliability and economic efficiency our special mission platforms provide. Whether they are launching new operations in Europe or flying crucial environmental and humanitarian missions over the diverse landscapes of Colombia, the P2006T NG will deliver the endurance and technology AviaTek needs to succeed.”
