Piedmont expands capacity at Winston-Salem facility
The facility expansion will increase capacity and improve workflow to support growing global demand for the company's propeller maintenance services.

Piedmont Propulsion Systems is expanding its Winston-Salem maintenance facility by 13,500 square feet. The additional space will support a reconfigured layout designed to improve production flow, reduce bottlenecks and accelerate turnaround times for operators worldwide. Updated workspaces will also improve ergonomics for technicians, contributing to safer conditions while reinforcing lean operational practices.

Local backing from Forsyth County and Smith Reynolds Airport leadership, including commissioner Mark Davidson, underlines regional support for aviation sector growth and skilled employment in the area.

“This expansion reflects the strong demand we continue to see for high-quality propeller maintenance services from operators around the world,” says Paul Bolton, president and COO of First Aviation Services Inc. “By expanding our facility and optimising the shop layout, we’re able to streamline workflow, support our technicians and deliver faster turnaround times for our customers.”

With added capacity, Piedmont Propulsion Systems continues to scale its support for regional, military, corporate and general aviation operators while advancing efficiency improvements across the facility.
