Private purchaser Davis delighted with P2012 Traveller
The aircraft's mission profile is diverse and demanding. It will be utilised to transport fresh food supplies and equipment necessary for the island's marina, restaurant, bar and hotels.
The aircraft is well-suited to business logistics.

Private owner Don Davis has taken delivery of the first US-based P2012 Tecnam Traveller equipped with Continental engines. Davis has selected the P2012 Traveller as the primary logistical and transport link for Spanish Cay, a private island destination in the Bahamas.

This delivery marks a milestone for the P2012 programme, showcasing the aircraft's versatility not just as a regional airliner, but as a versatile, safe and premium platform for private mobility and essential utility operations.

Spanish Cay is a remote, privately owned island featuring a marina, resort and residential properties. Accessible only by sea or via its private airfield, the island relies entirely on external logistics for sustainability. The P2012 Traveller will serve as a vital lifeline, operating between the US mainland (Florida) and the island.

The aircraft's mission profile is diverse and demanding. It will be utilised to transport fresh food supplies and equipment necessary for the island's marina, restaurant, bar and hotels. Additionally, the P2012 will provide premium comfortable transfer for guests and personnel, as well as serve as a rapid response vehicle for urgent transportation needs.

Davis states: “The P2012 Traveller Continental has proven to be the ideal solution for the Spanish Cay needs: it provides a flexible means of transportation allowing to fly in our guests and personnel, as well as all the vital supplies for the daily needs.”

The selection of the P2012 Traveller highlights the aircraft's ability to handle short-haul, high-frequency operations with a large payload, all while offering twin engine safety, reliability and modern avionics required for over-water operations.

Francesco Sferra, Tecnam P2012 special mission platforms sales and business development manager, adds: “We are delighted to welcome Don to the Tecnam family. This delivery demonstrates that the P2012 Traveller is the perfect aircraft for private owners who require a reliable, safe, comfortable, high-capacity solution for their personal or business logistics. Connecting Florida to the Bahamas with the efficiency and safety of the P2012 Continental is a perfect example of what we call ‘private mobility’, giving owners the freedom to support complex operations with a single, versatile platform. Tecnam is planning to further widen the offer for private owners with a more varied choice of high-end interior configurations and finishings.”

The P2012 Traveller, powered by two Continental or Lycoming engines and offered with a standard or STOL wing, is an 11-seat utility aircraft designed for maximum efficiency, easy maintenance and passenger comfort, making it the ideal replacement for aging heritage twins in locations like the USA and the Bahamas.
