Fargo plumps for Polaris Aero VOCUS
By leveraging VOCUS's advanced capabilities, including FlightRisk analytics, audit management and AI-driven reporting, Fargo Jet Center will streamline compliance efforts while fostering a robust safety culture.
This puts Fargo in a good position ahead of a 2027 compliance deadline.

Fargo Jet Center is implementing Polaris Aero's VOCUS SMS platform, marking a milestone in the Fargo, North Dakota-based full-service business aviation company's commitment to operational excellence and safety leadership.

The VOCUS platform will serve as the cornerstone of Fargo's enterprise-wide SMS programme, enabling integration of safety policies, risk management tools and assurance processes across its operations including charter services, FBO and Part 145 maintenance. Implementation will focus on the four pillars of safety management: safety policy, safety risk management, safety assurance and safety promotion.

By leveraging VOCUS's advanced capabilities, including FlightRisk analytics, audit management and AI-driven reporting, Fargo Jet Center will streamline compliance efforts while fostering a robust safety culture. It also prepares the organisation for the FAA's expanded SMS mandate under 14 CFR Part 5, that requires operators to adopt a formal, organisation-wide approach to managing safety risk.

“Implementing VOCUS is a critical step toward achieving FAA Part 5 standards and demonstrates our readiness to meet these requirements well ahead of the May 2027 compliance deadline,” says Rodger Schmidt, director of training and safety. “It is also a clear demonstration of our dedication to ensuring the highest levels of safety for our team members and customers.”
