Summit Helicopters has acquired fellow British Columbian rotary operator Blackcomb Helicopters. The deal brings Blackcomb’s fleet of seven helicopters and its Whistler and Squamish bases under Summit ownership.
Blackcomb’s existing operations, including utility, film, firefighting, emergency response, sightseeing and charter activities, will continue without interruption, operating under the Blackcomb brand. Blackcomb employees have transitioned to Summit Helicopters to support ongoing operations.
Summit Helicopters says the acquisition brings additional expertise and experience to its operations along the sea-to-sky corridor. “We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition with the Blackcomb team, our valued customers and the communities we serve,” comments a company spokesperson.
Blackcomb Helicopters has built a reputation for service and reliability in the region, and Summit plans to continue all current activities while integrating Blackcomb’s capabilities into its wider operations.
