Bombardier’s Global 8000 has received certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration, enabling operations across the United States and advancing Bombardier’s global certification schedule.
The ultra-long-range aircraft was granted Transport Canada Type Certification on 5 November 2025 and entered into service the following month. Certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency is still pending.
Stephen McCullough, senior vice president, engineering and product development at Bombardier, says: “This accomplishment is a direct result of the commitment to excellence and dedicated work of our highly skilled employees, suppliers, Transport Canada and the FAA for a collaborative, effective process. Attaining the Global 8000 certification from the FAA sets new performance standards in the industry and marks one of the final chapters in our very successful development programme for this groundbreaking business jet.”
The Global 8000 features the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation production at 2,691 ft while cruising at 41,000 ft, helping to reduce fatigue and physiological stress on long missions.
With a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 8,000 nm, the aircraft enables nonstop flights between more city pairs than any competing true four-zone business jet. Its advanced wing design supports access to up to 30% more airports than its closest competitor while retaining takeoff and landing performance comparable to that of a light jet.
