iAero, a Transport Canada-approved aerospace engineering and manufacturing organisation, has completed the certification and commercial release of its Sikorsky S-76 Wire Strike Kit, now approved under Transport Canada STC SH23-10.
Developed and manufactured in Canada, the iAero S-76 Wire Strike Kit provides a fully certified, direct replacement for the OEM system, which is now unavailable. Designed to protect aircraft and crew operating in low-altitude and confined environments, the kit features high-strength carbon steel upper and lower cutter assemblies, a windscreen protector and compatibility with no modification, ensuring a seamless retrofit for S-76A and S-76C models.
“This certification represents another step forward in supporting the continued service and safety of legacy aircraft platforms,” explains Ryan Hader, president of iAero. “The S-76 Wire Strike Kit was engineered to provide operators with a proven, fully supported replacement solution, delivering the same protection and performance as the original OEM system with improved manufacturability and field support.”
The Wire Strike Kit was designed to deliver OEM equivalent performance while enhancing durability, maintainability and long-term serviceability. The cutter assemblies feature replaceable impact blades and a corrosion-resistant finish, ensuring dependable operation in demanding mission environments, including utility, SAR, law enforcement and offshore support.
Installation is straightforward and efficient, requiring less than one day with no structural modifications. The system mounts directly to existing airframe provisions. It includes all necessary hardware, fasteners and installation documentation, making it a true plug-and-play retrofit that helps operators maintain mission readiness with minimal downtime.
