Million Air Austin and Avfuel Corporation have partnered to introduce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at Austin Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS), supporting lower-carbon operations for business and general aviation traffic. The fuel became available on 20 November 2025, marking the first consistent SAF supply point in Texas for both companies.
“Austin is a thriving, business-centric city that also deeply values environmental responsibility,” says Roger Woolsey, CEO of Million Air Interlink. “Bringing SAF to Million Air Austin is about giving our customers meaningful options that align with both their travel needs and their sustainability goals. At Million Air, we believe sophistication and responsibility go hand-in-hand, and this step in our Beyond Green initiative reflects our commitment to making choices that support both our customers and our planet.”
Avfuel’s vice president of sales Mark Haynes adds: “The Million Air team has been an exceptional partner to work with in expanding sustainable fuel solutions. We're proud to collaborate with them to establish our first consistent SAF-supplied location in Texas and help further their corporate initiatives on sustainability.”
The Texas-produced SAF has a blend of 30% neat SAF to 70% conventional jet fuel. Each 8,000-gallon truckload reduces lifecycle emissions by 19 metric tons, equivalent to the carbon absorbed annually by 19.1 acres of U.S. forest. In its unblended form, SAF can reduce emissions by up to 80% compared to petroleum-based fuel.
The new location joins Million Air Albany at Albany International Airport (KALB) in New York in offering SAF in partnership with Avfuel. The initiative is part of Million Air’s Beyond Green programme, which promotes responsible operations through investment in renewables, fuel efficiency and sustainable infrastructure.
SAF is produced from renewable waste materials, such as used cooking oil. It performs to the same ASTM D1655 standard as conventional jet fuel, with no aircraft or infrastructure modifications required.
