Middle East awards recognise FAI's ambulance prowess
FAI Aviation Services DMCC was named Best Air Ambulance Provider Middle East during the Middle East Aviation Innovation Awards, recognising its operations, fleet growth and regional medevac activity.

FAI Aviation Services DMCC, the Dubai-based subsidiary of Germany’s leading air ambulance operator FAI rent-a-jet GmbH, has won ‘Best Air Ambulance Provider Middle East’ at the Middle East Aviation Innovation Awards 2025. The award was presented at a gala evening during the Dubai Air Show.

Barbara Baumgartner, managing director of FAI in Dubai, accepted the award alongside Michael Axtmann, managing director of the group’s German MRO division FAI Technik. “It was terrific to celebrate with our guests and industry colleagues. This is a solid endorsement, once again, for our dedicated and brilliant team who work so hard,” said Baumgartner on accepting the award.

The awards followed FAI’s debut at the Dubai Air Show, where discussions in the exhibition hall focused on the need for more medevac aircraft availability in the Middle East, particularly from Saudi Arabia as additional airports continue to open. “The Middle East is a very important market for FAI,” added Baumgartner. “Owning our aircraft fleet outright is a unique selling point for the FAI Group. We don’t have to wait for owner permission to dispatch a medevac or charter aircraft.”

FAI emphasises the close relationships it enjoys with medical professionals and hospitals worldwide, and especially within the Middle East where there are cultural sensitivities to consider.

VIP air ambulance and charter missions operated by FAI’s dedicated Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft in the Middle East account for around 20 per cent of the company’s operations. A Bombardier Global 6000 is joining its fleet this month, and two Learjet 60XRs are scheduled to arrive in January.
