NATA brings aviation leaders together to discuss collaboration
From customer experience and infrastructure to air mobility and policy, the NATA Aviation Business Conference tackled a broad agenda during its 85th anniversary year.
A core theme across the conference was using insight into market conditions to deepen customer connections across all aviation sectors.

Industry leaders from all areas of the aviation sector gathered in Dallas, Texas on November 17–18 for NATA's annual Aviation Business Conference, held shortly after the longest US federal government shutdown in history. The event offered a platform for wide-ranging discussion on sustainability, access, infrastructure and regulation and highlighted the collaborative resilience of aviation businesses.

“A healthy aviation ecosystem requires balance, including safety with access, stability with flexibility and strong collaboration across the community,” says NATA president and CEO Curt Castagna. “NATA's Aviation Business Conference embodies that collaborative spirit by bringing together industry leaders to ensure we are prepared, aligned and ready to lead in a rapidly evolving business environment.”

Attendees included air charter operators, FBOs, maintenance firms, flight schools, airports and advanced air mobility innovators. Topics included pricing strategies, lease structures, AAM integration and the future of policy in a shifting political landscape.

Castagna also held a public discussion with FAA deputy administrator Chris Rocheleau, addressing how industry collaboration with regulators can enhance safety and stability. Castagna emphasised that the conference came at a critical time for aviation businesses still recovering from the operational disruptions caused by the shutdown. “The impact of the resulting Emergency Orders and NOTAMs underscored how interconnected the NAS truly is,” he says.

The event concluded with the NATA Industry Excellence Awards Luncheon. Million Air CEO Roger Woosley received the William A. “Bill” Ong Memorial Award for his contributions to general aviation. The association also celebrated 85 years of service to aviation businesses.

“It’s clear that the same spirit of industry collaboration that has guided this association through generations of change continues to guide us todays clear that the same spirit of industry collaboration that has guided this association through generations of change continues to guide us today,” says NATA COO Hector Huezo.
