Bombardier is bringing its influential Safety Standdown seminar back to Wichita, Kansas, for another year of aviation safety learning and collaboration. The three-day event, being held on November 11-13 both in person and online, will feature interactive workshops and presentations from leading industry experts.
Centred on the theme “Own the Outcome,” the 2025 edition is set to encourage aviation professionals to take full responsibility for every decision, procedure and action that shapes safety. The idea reinforces that safety is not a matter of chance but the result of vigilance, preparation and accountability across all roles.
“For almost three decades, Bombardier’s Safety Standdown has been a must-attend seminar that targets all aviation disciplines, and what’s more important than safety when it comes to every aspect of our collective operations?” says Chris Milligan, vice president, pre-owned aircraft services and flight operations, Bombardier. “This dynamic seminar brings together the most sought-after industry experts and thought leaders together to share invaluable information about aviation safety, and we are honoured to lead the charge in the industry and help make aviation safer on all levels.”
Since its creation by a group of Learjet demonstration pilots in Wichita, Safety Standdown has provided free educational opportunities for more than 10,000 aviation professionals worldwide. Attendees represent flight crews, maintenance teams, dispatchers, schedulers and a wide range of commercial, corporate and military organisations.
Dr Tony Kern, CEO of Convergent Performance, will headline this year’s seminar with lessons on leadership and high performance inspired by the pirate age. Other speakers will include Jennifer Pickerel and Ben Janaitis of Aviation Personnel International, Robb Patton of Highbrow Safety Werks, Michael Cataldo of Cox Enterprises and Captain Kyle Freilburger.
