Belgian flight school Ostend Air College has once again placed its trust in Alsim by investing in the company’s AL42 simulator.
The AL42 is an exact replica of the Diamond DA42, built using genuine aircraft parts and equipped with the authentic Garmin G1000 NXi. It features the latest generation image generator (VFR-VS), a GFC 700 autopilot and a force feedback system that enhances realism. The simulator can also be equipped with either analogue or glass (EFIS) backup instruments. Designed for CPL, IR/ME and PPL training, the AL42 meets current EASA FNPT II standards.
Lieven Van Hoorick, FSTD manager at Ostend Air College, says: “We decided to invest in the Alsim AL42 as part of our ongoing effort to future-proof our training programmes and maintain a high level of realism and quality in our pilot instruction. The AL42’s modern avionics, accurate flight dynamics and alignment with the DA42 cockpit make it a valuable tool for bridging the gap between simulation and real-world procedures.
“Our partnership with Alsim dates back to 2007. Having worked with the company for many years, we’ve come to appreciate the consistency and technical robustness of its simulators.”
Alsim sales manager at Alsim Leonardo Rodrigues adds: “We are delighted that Ostend Air College has once again chosen Alsim to support its pilot training programmes with the AL42 simulator. Its decision reflects the trust it places in the quality and reliability of our devices.”
The delivery comes as Alsim continues to expand its range of aircraft-specific simulators, following the recent launch of the AL2006, which replicates the Tecnam P2006T NG and meets FTD Level 5 and EASA FNPT II standards. Several European flight schools, including Professional Aviation in Italy and Smart Aviation in Poland, have already integrated the device into their training programmes, underscoring Alsim’s growing presence in advanced flight simulation across the region.
