StandardAero secures approval for Galileo on Challenger 600
The company has completed STCs for Gogo Galileo HDX and FDX antennas, enabling high-speed satellite connectivity on Challenger 600 series jets across multiple US facilities.

StandardAero has completed the supplemental type certificates (STCs) for Gogo Galileo half-duplex (HDX) and full-duplex (FDX) antenna installations on Bombardier Challenger 600 series aircraft.

Holding Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), StandardAero can issue STCs on behalf of the FAA. To date, it has completed more than 1,600 STC programmes for engine, airframe and avionics modifications across a range of aircraft.

Gogo selected StandardAero’s Springfield, Illinois facility to develop the Gogo Galileo HDX installation STC and the FDX antenna and installation STCs for Challenger 600, 601, 604, 605 and 650 aircraft. The HDX installation was carried out on a Challenger 605 in Springfield, while the FDX installation took place on a Challenger 604 at Van Nuys Airport in California.

“Adding two more successful Gogo STCs to our growing list coming from the StandardAero ODA office is another example of how we can deliver customer-needed modifications to market with more speed,” says Tony Brancato, president of StandardAero’s business aviation division. “We’re incredibly proud to share this achievement with Gogo and the customers who graciously provided their aircraft for installation. We look forward to continuing to work with Gogo on its upcoming 2026 STC projects.”

The Gogo Galileo HDX and FDX systems provide high-speed, low-latency inflight internet connectivity through Eutelsat’s OneWeb enterprise-grade Low-Earth-Orbit satellite network, which ensures consistent global performance.

“We’re thrilled StandardAero has secured STCs for not one, but two of our Gogo Galileo antennas,” adds Chris Moore, chief executive officer at Gogo. “This milestone accelerates adoption by providing more operators with more flexible connectivity choices. It also highlights StandardAero’s trusted expertise and our shared commitment to delivering the next generation of inflight connectivity.”

StandardAero is now collaborating with Gogo and interested Bombardier Global Express, XRS, 5000, 6000, 5500, 6500 and 7500 series customers to develop additional FAA STCs for release in the first half of 2026. Installations for Challenger 600 series aircraft can be performed at StandardAero’s airframe service centres in Augusta, Houston, Springfield and Van Nuys.
