Babcock extends contract with Hampshire and Isle of Wight ambulance
The four-year contract extension will support the charity’s relocation near Southampton Airport, ensuring advanced H135 operations continue across the region.
The H135 remains the backbone of the air ambulance’s critical care operations.

Babcock International Group has extended its contract with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance for another four years, continuing a partnership that has lasted nearly two decades.

Babcock will keep providing the charity with an Airbus H135 helicopter equipped with Night Vision Imaging System technology, full maintenance, safety and compliance, and skilled aviation staff. The service will continue its 19-hour daily operations to make sure patients receive critical care at any time.

The contract also supports the charity as it relocates to a new base near Southampton Airport, which will allow faster responses across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Chloe Barker, managing director of Babcock’s UK aviation business, says: “This service provides an essential lifeline to communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, ensuring rapid access to critical care in the most urgent and challenging circumstances. Continuing our relationship with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance reflects the strength of our 18-year partnership and our shared commitment to delivering excellence in emergency medical aviation. As Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance transitions to a new location, we’re working closely with it to ensure continuity of service and enhanced operational readiness. We’re honoured to continue supporting it in its vital mission.”

Richard Corbett, chief executive officer at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, adds: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Babcock, whose expertise and commitment have been integral to our operations for nearly two decades.”
