Viasat expands JetXP capacity across eastern United States
The service will deliver five times more in-flight broadband capacity over eastern US hubs, with nationwide expansion scheduled in coming months.
Customers travelling across busy eastern US flight corridors were the first to benefit from the increase.

Viasat has introduced a major capacity increase for its JetXP business aviation broadband service, delivering five times more connectivity across the eastern United States. The rollout will expand nationwide in phases over the coming months.

All business aviation customers equipped with Honeywell JetWave or Gogo Plane Simple Ka-band terminals are benefitting from the boost, which supports high-definition video conferencing, content streaming and generative AI applications across multiple devices. Performance for JetWave users can be further improved by installing the latest terminal software version.

The step is part of Viasat’s business aviation enhancement programme, which includes uncapped speeds, prioritisation and optimised satellite asset management.

Kai Tang, head of business aviation at Viasat, says: “JetXP already delivers our best ever in-flight broadband experience for business aviation by unleashing the full power of our global Ka-band network. We're excited to now introduce our highest ever capacity increase over the United States for business aviation customers in direct response to their specific requirements.”

Launched under a year ago, JetXP unites the legacy Jet ConneX and Viasat Ka services. It was developed through customer and partner consultation, supported by detailed usage analysis showing demand for overall connectivity experience rather than speed alone.

Tang adds: “Our most sophisticated users recognise that the overall experience matters more than simple speed tests, and that's where JetXP really excels.”
