Whitesky partners with SkyDrive to pioneer eVTOL ops in Indonesia
The partnership was marked by a pre-order for up to 30 SD-05 aircraft and by plans for Jakarta sightseeing flights by 2028.
Whitesky Group CFO Luthano Harry Budyanto, CEO Denon Prawiraatmadja, SkyDrive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa, and SkyDrive director Taiju Oki at HELI EXPO ASIA 2025, Cengkareng Heliport, Tangerang.

Whitesky Aviation has entered into a strategic partnership with SkyDrive Inc. to bring electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to Indonesia. The agreement covers the SkyDrive SD-05 with operations planned at Whitesky’s Cengkareng Heliport next to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and potential applications in the mining sector.

As part of the collaboration, Whitesky has pre-ordered up to 30 aircraft to prepare for urban and industrial use. Plans also include launching sightseeing services in Jakarta by 2028, supported by a superhub-and-spoke system that Whitesky will develop for safe and scalable operations across the country.

Whitesky CCO Ari Nurwanda says “Our strategic alliance with SkyDrive is a pivotal step toward realising that vision in Indonesia. By combining our operational expertise with SkyDrive’s cutting-edge eVTOL technology, we’re shaping a new era of connectivity across the archipelago.”

SkyDrive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa adds “We are pleased to partner with Whitesky, one of Indonesia’s leading helicopter operators. Urban areas, particularly Jakarta, face severe traffic congestion and eVTOLs are highly anticipated as a solution.”
