Wheels Up gains safety stamp thanks to Wyvern
Achieving Wingman status requires operators to meet the industry's most stringent safety standards. The evaluation process includes an in-depth assessment of an organisation's compliance management system.

Wheels Up Experience, a US provider of on-demand private aviation, has reaffirmed its commitment to safety and operational excellence by maintaining its designation as a Wyvern Wingman certified operator. This recognition reflects the company's ongoing participation in Wyvern's Flight Leader Program, which offers continuous safety coaching and strategic guidance. As the industry's first air charter audit standard, the Wyvern Wingman standard serves as a trusted safety benchmark, helping customers assess operator's performance against rigorous, globally recognised best practices.

“At Wheels Up, safety isn't just a standard, it's a promise we deliver every day,” says David Holtz, Wheels Up's chief operating officer. “Renewing our Wyvern Wingman certification reinforces the rigorous controls and culture of accountability we've built across our operations. It reflects the trust our customers place in us and our commitment to providing a seamless, world-class experience that puts safety first, every time.”

Achieving Wingman status requires operators to meet the industry's most stringent safety standards. The comprehensive evaluation process includes an in-depth assessment of an organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation protocols, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture, risk management policies and procedures, emergency response plans and training programmes.

“We applaud Wheels Up for renewing its Wingman certification, reflecting its commitment to superior safety management and meticulous operational control,” remarks Andrew Day, Wyvern senior vice president, operations. “By maintaining transparency and adhering to industry best practices, it exemplifies leadership in aviation safety.”
