ForeFlight has launched Dynamic Procedures, a context-aware system for visualising instrument procedures directly on its interactive moving map. The sidebar-based interface filters out non-applicable information and integrates with features like 3D View, Profile View and Plates on Maps to streamline briefing and flying instrument approaches.
The feature builds on prior ForeFlight tools such as Procedure Advisor and Augmented Procedures and uses Jeppesen's global aviation data to display route-specific procedure details. These include speeds, altitudes, course reversals, arcs and minimum sector altitudes, as well as frequency and notes filtering and circling area visuals. Users can preview runway approaches in day or night settings and toggle between different chart views.
“Dynamic Procedures is a milestone toward a fully interactive, chart-free IFR experience,” says Travis Root, vice president of product at ForeFlight. “It’s the easiest way to brief an approach and to quickly reference it again as part of your scan.”
Initially covering the U.S., Canada and the Pacific Islands, Dynamic Procedures was released to all supported users following its demonstration at EAA AirVenture 2025. A three-month preview included temporary access for Starter plan users. After that, it requires the Essential plan or above.
All business accounts will receive access, though the feature is disabled by default. Administrators can enable it via Organisation Settings on ForeFlight Web.
