Ajman Transport Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with Skyports Infrastructure to explore future cooperation in smart aerial mobility, including air taxi services.
The agreement was signed by the authority’s director general H.E. Omar Mohammed Lootah and Skyports Middle East general manager Daniel O’Neill. It outlined joint efforts in infrastructure research, site identification for key facilities and improving technical and operational readiness.
Lootah says the move supports Ajman’s broader goal of becoming a smart city. “This is part of the authority's vision to embrace innovative transport solutions that support Ajman's transformation,” he says. “It is important to work with global leaders to develop a safe, advanced and sustainable transportation network.”
O’Neill says the partnership aligns with the UAE’s regulatory developments in the field. “The MoU represents a valuable opportunity to collaborate on enabling advanced aerial mobility technologies in Ajman and developing supporting infrastructure in line with the GCAA’s recent vertiport regulations,” he says.
Ajman Transport Authority says the initiative reflects its intention to keep pace with international innovation and help deliver sustainable mobility options through strategic partnerships.
