Biggin Hill paint hangar reaches next stage of construction
Ground and foundation work has been completed, with cladding underway, as steel framework continues be raised on site.
Peter Fortune, MP for Bromley and Biggin Hill, and Sander Podgoric, general manager of Bombardier’s London Biggin Hill service centre, tour the in-progress facility.

Bombardier’s paint facility at London Biggin Hill is progressing, with ground stabilisation and foundation works now completed and cladding underway. Steel erection is ongoing for the 51,000 sq ft two-bay hangar, which will employ over 50 paint technicians once operational.

The new facility is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026 and will complement the existing 250,000 sq ft service centre, inaugurated in 2017 and expanded in 2022. Bombardier expects it to broaden maintenance capabilities for Global, Challenger and Learjet aircraft.

“The addition of the new paint facility at the London Biggin Hill Airport adds a sought-after service element to the already comprehensive offerings for our customers,” says Bombardier London Biggin Hill general manager Sander Podgoric. “The London Biggin Hill service centre brings hundreds of high-paying jobs to Bromley and Biggin Hill.”

On 4 July, Bromley and Biggin Hill MP Peter Fortune visited the site. “It was incredible to see behind-the-scenes at Bombardier's state of the art engineering facility,” he says. “It is exciting to see its commitment to developing in Bromley with the construction of its new paint facility.”

Bombardier recently opened a 700 sq ft interior materials lounge with F/List and fitted over 3,000 solar panels to the roof. It also added a Farnborough-based line station providing AOG and light maintenance.
