Talon Air renews Wingman certification
The New York-based operator has transitioned to quarterly coaching under Wyvern’s Flight Leader Program as part of its ongoing safety and compliance strategy.
Based in Farmingdale, New York, Talon Air operates a diverse fleet of over 30 midsize and larger business jets.

Talon Air has renewed its Wyvern Wingman certified operator status, this time through Wyvern's Flight Leader Program. Recognising the value of ongoing coaching and deeper engagement, Talon Air transitioned from traditional audits to quarterly coaching sessions with its Flight Leader coach.

The globally recognised Wyvern Wingman standard, the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry, provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services.

“Since our initial partnership with Wyvern we have been steadfast in our commitment to elevating safety in our industry. Now, as we renew our Wingman status we are excited to usher in a new standard of safety in private aviation and in transparency to the private aviation consumer,” says James Chitty, Talon Air CEO.

The scope of the evaluation includes a review and assessment of the organisation's compliance management system, internal evaluation programme, safety management system, human factors management, safety culture analysis, risk management policies, procedures and practices, emergency response plans and training programmes.

"This accomplishment reaffirms Talon Air's unwavering dedication to fostering a robust and enduring safety culture, elevating its operational standards well above those of operators still in the early stages of adopting formal safety risk management practices,” comments Andrew Day, Wyvern senior vice president, operations.
