Jetvia has begun a new chapter under the ownership of entrepreneur Matthew O’Hayer, who has taken on the role of CEO. The private jet charter operator, which trades as ATI Jet, was founded nearly four decades ago and operates what it describes as the world’s largest fleet of Learjet 60s.
Jetvia founder Lyle Byrum, recently honoured with the FAA’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, has stepped aside as CEO to become president, where he will lead on engineering and growth strategy. He says: “Jetvia has always been about more than aircraft; it’s about people and the culture of excellence we’ve built together. Matt’s passion for aviation and proven track record of scaling mission-driven businesses make him the ideal partner to take Jetvia to new heights.”
Jetvia has grown from a small company to a 23-aircraft fleet of Learjet 60s known for its safety and service. EVP Nick Tyson says: “We are entering a new era for Jetvia. Our goal is to strengthen our core values and deliver even greater reliability and innovation to our clients. With Matt’s strategic insight, Lyle’s engineering expertise and the dedication of our entire team, now operating the world’s largest Learjet 60 fleet, we will continue to set the benchmark for private aviation.”
Tyson joined the company in 2019 and has been promoted to executive vice president. Jetvia is also focusing more on using aviation for good, offering flights for medical patients and supporting wider public service missions. The company says it remains committed to its culture of safety and high standards as it transitions.
