Duncan delivers full 900EX refit with custom interior
The company carried out the full refurbishment during a C-check, with detailed visuals being used to guide design and material decisions.

Duncan Aviation has completed a full interior and paint refurbishment on a Falcon 900EX at its Lincoln, Nebraska facility. The project, for long-time owners Billy and Rozanne Rosenthal, included functional upgrades, aesthetic changes and the installation of performance-enhancing API winglets.

The Rosenthals opted for the work during a scheduled C-check. “I was always told if you want to upgrade your aircraft, do it during the C-check,” says Billy Rosenthal. Duncan Aviation came recommended by their aviation team. “Our top priority was getting a quality job,” he adds.

A detailed visual quote package by senior completions and modifications sales rep Tracey Boesch helped secure the project. Senior lead designer Stephanie Kuhn said it included before-and-after photos that “show clients what the numbers will mean in the end. It was a visual representation of the dramatic change we can make, and how we can bring their aircraft to life.”

After outlining their vision, the Rosenthals visited the Lincoln design centre to finalise plans. “They had wonderful ideas laid out,” said the Rosenthals. The couple selected materials and colours from Duncan’s full library. Kuhn noted that visiting in person allows clients to explore ideas beyond what can be shared remotely.

A lack of storage led to the removal of the forward lavatory, replaced by a closet. “It turned out great,” said the Rosenthals. “It looks like the aircraft was designed that way!” The lavatory was preserved for future reinstallation. Mid-cabin dividers were also removed to create a more open feel, and the aft divans were modified to add a fourth belted seat suitable for children.

New PSU overlay panels and streamlined drinkrails updated the cabin’s look. Relocated cupholders made space for integrated Collins Venue CMS controls, offering intuitive passenger access to lighting, audio and video. Flush-mounted monitors improved the Collins Airshow moving map experience and supported streaming from personal devices. Interior features included a two-tone wool carpet, recliner leg rests in VIP seats and satin antique nickel finishes. A reworked galley tower, credenza and aft lavatory enhanced spatial flow and comfort. Veneer with a greige-taupe undertone and leather lower sidewalls added refinement, while the new solid surface and French-stitched accents brought depth and warmth.

The exterior was painted in Matterhorn white with blue metallic striping and included the owner's state flag.

“It looks brand new,” said the Rosenthals. “Everything matches and from top to bottom, it's just beautiful.” Boesch said working with the couple had been a highlight of her 35-year career.
