247 Aviation, a UK provider of fixed-wing medical repatriation services, has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). This achievement positions 247 Aviation among an exclusive group, as only two organisations in the UK and Ireland currently hold this globally recognised accreditation. Notably, 247 Aviation is the only private-sector provider in the United Kingdom to achieve this standard.
CAMTS, the gold standard in medical transport accreditation, offers the only internationally recognised standards for ground, helicopter and fixed-wing medical transport systems. The rigorous, peer-driven review process evaluates every aspect of an aeromedical operation, from stringent patient medical protocols and clinical care to aircraft maintenance and safety standards.
“Securing CAMTS accreditation and to be the sole private sector organisation within the UK to hold this accreditation is a powerful testament to the dedication and expertise of our entire team,” states Stanley Edgar, group managing director of SERE Holdings Ltd, 247 Aviation's parent company, and accountable manager of 247 Aviation. “This achievement validates our unwavering commitment to excellence and ensures we provide the safest, most effective and compassionate medical transport services available. We are honoured to join the distinguished ranks of elite global medical transport providers that meet these exacting standards, alongside Embrace Yorkshire & Humber Infant & Children's Transport Service, based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, which provides a vital public sector service.”
The CAMTS accreditation signifies that 247 Aviation has demonstrated exceptional performance and unwavering adherence to industry best practices in critical areas, including superior patient care – ensuring the highest calibre of medical care throughout every phase of the transport process; uncompromising safety standards – implementing and maintaining rigorous safety protocols for all aircraft and ground operations; expert medical direction – providing expert medical oversight and clinical leadership, ensuring optimal patient outcomes; advanced equipment and technology – leveraging state-of-the-art equipment and technology to enhance patient care and transport efficiency; highly qualified personnel – employing a team of exceptionally trained and qualified medical and aviation professionals; and robust quality management – implementing comprehensive quality improvement processes to drive continuous enhancement of services.
This accreditation is frequently a prerequisite for air ambulance providers serving government agencies, leading international medical centres, travel insurance and assistance companies.
