For several years, Duncan Aviation has been equipping aircraft with ionisation systems from Aviation Clean Air (ACA) to support cabin hygiene. The ACA system integrates with onboard environmental controls to purify both air and surfaces, neutralising odours and allergens while eliminating pathogens during flight.
Designed to reduce smells from food, pets, lavatories, smoke and fuel, the system also tackles bacteria, viruses and fungi. It has the added benefit of lowering static electricity created by low cabin humidity.
ACA’s ionisation technology has long been used in other sectors including healthcare, education, transport hubs and hospitality.
Duncan has developed installation kits for ACA on BD-100 (Challenger 300) and BD-700 aircraft, including STCs, ionisers and PMA parts. Additional STCs allow for installations across a wider range of types.
“Additional access and modifications to the air plenum are required to install the ACA system,” says Duncan Aviation senior avionics sales representative Scott Kruce. “The ideal time to install this powerful system is during a scheduled maintenance or refurbishment event. However, because it takes less than two weeks to install, we can also perform this installation as a stand-alone event.”
