Rosen unveils 4K Smart Map Box for cabin use
The brand's compact standalone unit combines FlightPath 3D map and streaming-ready SmartTV functionality for flyers.
The 4K Smart Map Box additionally supports Google Play Store apps including Netflix and YouTube.

Rosen Aviation has launched its 4K Smart Map Box, creating a new product category within its cabin electronics portfolio. The compact unit delivers SmartTV capabilities and a 4K version of FlightPath 3D’s moving map, designed to integrate into any cabin management or inflight entertainment system.

The unit supports Google Play Store apps such as Netflix and YouTube and is Widevine Level 1 certified for studio content. I/O features include dual HDMI, USB, analogue and digital audio, Bluetooth, ethernet, Wi-Fi and 1 TB of internal storage.

Rosen Aviation's Senior VP of strategy, Lee Clark, says: "It is so rewarding to see the evolution of our technology portfolio, as it quickly expands to meet the everchanging landscape of consumer electronics. Our goal is to bridge the gap between what's available on an aircraft with what passengers have available at home, on their phones and in their cars. The 4K Smart Map Box undoubtedly achieves that goal. While this announcement is both exciting and impactful, it's really one of many new solutions that Rosen is bringing to market that dramatically enhance the passenger experience beyond just better display resolution and we'll continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what's possible in an aircraft cabin.”
