ExecuJet MRO Services South Africa has completed a 2C heavy maintenance check on a Dassault Falcon 900EX, incorporating additional modifications and refurbishment. The work involved removing and reinstalling the wing’s outermost surface and modifying the wing’s dry bay to enhance safety in case of structural damage. The process required extensive labour, including the removal and reinstallation of around 2,000 screws.
A cabin interior refurbishment and landing gear overhaul were also performed during the check to minimise downtime. The aircraft owner is a repeat customer at the company’s Johannesburg Lanseria International Airport facility.
“Falcon operators prefer to send their aircraft to us because we are a factory-owned Falcon service centre that has an experienced local workforce trained by Dassault,” says Vince Goncalves, regional VP Africa for ExecuJet MRO Services. “With the growing number of Falcons in the region, we look forward to more line and base maintenance work coming to the facility.”
Dassault’s Falcon jets are well-suited to African operations due to their range and runway performance in ‘hot and high’ conditions. ExecuJet MRO Services South Africa also recently completed a 1C inspection on a Falcon 50B.
