Entergy selects Bell 429s to enhance powerline inspections
The utility provider is adding two Bell 429 helicopters to strengthen infrastructure monitoring and disaster response.
Entergy and Bell Textron representatives marked the purchase of two Bell 429 helicopters at Verticon 2025 in Dallas.

Entergy Services, LLC has signed a purchase agreement for two Bell 429 helicopters to support its powerline inspection operations across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The aircraft will enhance Entergy’s ability to monitor infrastructure, respond to outages and maintain reliable service for the three million customers in its network.

“The Bell 429’s performance and capabilities make it an ideal addition to our fleet,” says an Entergy spokesperson. “These helicopters will improve our ability to inspect powerlines efficiently, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters when quick response times are critical.”

With advanced speed, range and hover performance, the Bell 429 allows Entergy to conduct precise aerial inspections. The aircraft’s single-pilot IFR capability and reliability make it well suited for utility operations.
