West Star breaks ground at Grand Junction
The expansion at Colorado's Grand Junction Regional Airport will add significant hangar, office and ramp space to meet growing demand for MRO and avionics services.

West Star Aviation has officially broken ground on a major expansion at its MRO facility at Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) in Grand Junction, Colorado, marking the start of construction with a ceremony on 11 March. A 40,000 square-foot hangar will meet the increasing demand for maintenance services, avionics installations and interior refurbishments, and the expansion will also include 38,000 square feet of office and back-shop space, and an additional 31,000 square feet of ramp space.

“As we officially break ground, we look forward to the opportunities this expansion will create for our customers, employees and the local community,” says president and COO Allen McReynolds. “The expansion at Grand Junction reflects our focus on customer needs, service excellence and operational efficiency.”

Angela Padalecki, executive director of airport operations at Grand Junction, adds: “West Star Aviation has been an integral part of our airport and our community. This ground-breaking is a testament to the strong partnership between the airport and West Star, and we are thrilled to see this project move forward.”

Designed and built in partnership with Tectonic Management Group, the expansion is set for completion in the second quarter of 2026, with the new facility aimed at enhancing resources to support West Star's employees, customers and long-term growth objectives.
