Saskatchewan Polytechnic has acquired an Alsim ALX flight simulator to strengthen its commercial pilot training programme. Located at its Saskatoon campus, the ALX joins the institution’s existing AL250 and AL200 simulators, further expanding its simulation-based instruction.
The Alsim ALX supports training across four aircraft categories, from single-engine piston to medium twin jets and is designed for ATPL, CPL and MCC training in compliance with regulatory standards. It offers cost-effective training by reducing aircraft hours while providing realistic weather, turbulence and emergency scenario simulation.
Dr. Larry Rosia, president and CEO of Saskatchewan Polytechnic, says, “This investment is instrumental in providing our students with cutting-edge and innovative equipment, enabling them to gain the skills and experience necessary for successful careers in aviation.”
Jason Da Costa, Alsim’s business development and sales manager for North America, adds, “The ALX is a comprehensive training device that can take a pilot all the way to a type rating and provides excellent preparation for airline readiness.”
