Precision Winding Inc. has secured PMA approval for an LED cabin lighting system, replacing fluorescent tubes in Hawker/Beechjet 400 and 400A aircraft with a low-maintenance, interference-free alternative.
Hawker/Beechjet 400 and 400A light jets now have an LED cabin lighting option, following PWI’s latest FAA PMA approval. The Wichita-based lighting specialist developed the upgrade to replace ageing fluorescent tubes, improving reliability and eliminating maintenance linked to high-voltage inverters.
The LEDs integrate with existing aircraft wiring, requiring no modifications. They offer instant illumination, particularly in cold conditions, without the flickering or buzzing associated with fluorescent lights. PWI president and CEO Robi Lorik says: “Our LED cabin lighting systems enhance the flight from boarding through disembarking; the entire aircraft passenger experience.”
The lighting is 4,000K neutral white, has a 100,000-hour service life and generates no heat. The installation directly replaces fluorescent units with PMA-approved part numbers 25100-1 XX and 250003-XX. PWI provides a three-year warranty and distributes the system directly and through authorised dealers.
The company has long supplied fluorescent cabin lighting for business jets, including Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream, Citation, Challenger and Learjet models, as well as King Air turboprops.
