SkyWest designated a Wyvern Wingman operator
SkyWest Charter is a subsidiary of SkyWest, offering Part 135 charter flights across North America with a fleet of 30-seat CRJ200 aircraft. It recently signed up to the innovative and progressive Wyvern programme.

SkyWest Charter has earned Wyvern Wingman operator designation through the Flight Leader Program with quarterly coaching by Wyvern. The Wyvern Wingman standard provides a safety benchmark that allows air charter customers to assess performance expectations against recognised industry best operating practices before purchasing air charter services. “SWC is proud to be recognised by Wyvern for the work we are doing to ensure the highest standards of safety and operations within the Part 135 industry,” states Trenton Moss, SWC director. “Utilising an SMS, top training for our employees, active flight dispatching and more allows us to provide our clients with a superior flight experience.”

Wingman operators are evaluated by the Wingman standard criteria. The scope of the evaluation includes an assessment of operational activities, a review of the company's operational history and safety records, SMS, an internal evaluation programme, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements, and maintenance operations including technician training and experience.

“We congratulate SkyWest Charter (SWC) for achieving Wyvern Wingman certification, which validates its effective safety management system and excellence in managing operations and aircraft maintenance. Wingman operators stand out among their peers by allowing Wyvern to assess their conformity to best practices and continually monitor their information related to safety,” says Andrew Day, Wyvern senior vice president, operations.
