Latin America’s Lider Aviacao is expanding its operations in São Paulo. The new initiatives are part of a strategic move to strengthen the company’s presence in the region, improve the quality of customer service and optimise existing infrastructure.

The main new developments include the renewal of the contract with AENA Brasil, the company responsible for the concession of Congonhas airport, in a new area of the airport, the creation of a new base at Campo de Marte airport, the expansion of its existing base at Sorocaba airport and a strategic partnership with Helicidade Heliporto.

With the new initiatives, all services provided by Líder in Greater São Paulo and its surrounding areas will be maintained and expanded with a presence in the main airports accommodating current demand in the region: Congonhas (chartering and management, hangarage, VIP lounge, aircraft sales and airport service, with a focus on fixed wing types), Campo de Marte (chartering and management, hangarage, VIP lounge, maintenance and airport service, with a focus on rotary types), Sorocaba (fixed wing maintenance), Helicidade (maintenance of Bell and Leonardo helicopters), Guarulhos (chartering, VIP lounge and airport service) and Viracopos (chartering and airport service).

“Our commitment is to offer our customers the best experience in executive aviation, with cutting-edge facilities and specialised services, in strategic locations in the city,” states CEO Junia Hermont.

Lider Aviacao will continue to operate at Congonhas airport. The company has transferred its operations to a new building and hangar, located on the other side of the runway and which are already operating normally. The change provides a more modern space, with easy access via Avenida dos Bandeirantes and the North-South corridor, the main roads in the region. In the new configuration, the base at the site offers charter, management, aircraft sales, hangarage and airport services, with a focus on fixed wing aircraft.

“Maintaining our operations at Congonhas is a great achievement, as the airport is strategically located close to the main financial and corporate areas of São Paulo. The new facility offers a more modern and comfortable environment for our customers, with a more sophisticated VIP lounge coming soon, and all the specialised services of executive aviation,” explains Hermont.

Lider Aviacao has also announced the creation of a base at Campo de Marte airport, in the north zone of the capital of São Paulo. This will be the company’s 22nd base and, according to the agreement with the concessionaire Pax Aeroportos, Líder will occupy, starting in January 2025, a hangar that will have as its operational focus rotary wing operations, including maintenance, chartering, management, hangaring and airport services.

“We will now have a dedicated space for helicopter customers, with our own VIP room and hangar, and with greater operating capacity than we had before,” says Hermont.

At Sorocaba airport, Líder is expanding its base, which has absorbed its aircraft maintenance operation. Líder’s authorised service centres for Gulfstream and Hondajet types have been transferred from Congonhas to Sorocaba.

Opened in November 2023, Líder will occupy a hangar measuring approximately 4,000 sqm entirely and exclusively as of January 2025. The location will provide the maintenance service with a newer, dedicated hangar designed for this purpose. In addition, at Sorocaba Airport there is no need for a slot for landings and takeoffs, which will speed up the receipt of aircraft for maintenance, unlike what happens at Congonhas airport in the capital of São Paulo.

“The decision to invest in Sorocaba was made with the aim of expanding our maintenance capacity and offering even greater agility to our customers. We are now fully prepared for this expansion and will always maintain the excellence of the services provided at the airport, which has already established itself as an aircraft maintenance hub,” continues Hermont.

The maintenance unit is further strengthened by the partnership signed with Helicidade Heliport, through the provision of maintenance services for Bell and Leonardo helicopters on site. “With this agreement, we will simplify logistics for owners of Bell and Leonardo helicopters operating at Helicidade, as they will be able to carry out maintenance at the heliport where they are already present.”
