Eve Air Mobility is collaborating with VertiMob Infrastructure Ltda and PRS Aeroportos as part of a Brazilian regulatory sandbox for vertiports, organised by ANAC, Brazil’s national civil aviation agency. The 24-month initiative will help to define operational regulations for eVTOL aircraft.

The project will examine key regulatory areas, including vertiport capacity, fire-fighting systems, noise requirements and access control. It will also define take-off and landing layouts, approach and departure paths and maintenance facilities. Eve will contribute its expertise in aircraft performance and operational best practices, drawing from its experience in aerospace technology and AAM development.

"From the beginning, Eve's vision has always been broader than just the aircraft. We are deeply committed to shaping and integrating into the wider AAM industry," says Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve. "Our collaboration in ANAC's regulatory sandbox is a clear demonstration of this commitment. This partnership with the infrastructure operators allows us to address all aspects of the AAM industry, from vertiport infrastructure to eVTOL operations, in alignment with the standards and expectations of global regulatory agencies.”

ANAC has also published airworthiness criteria for Eve’s eVTOL, a key step towards type certification. Eve continues to work with ANAC and the FAA to finalise certification approvals.

The company has previously conducted Concept of Operations (CONOPs) studies in major cities, gathering industry feedback to refine eVTOL services and operational requirements.
