Tropic Helicopters Tanzania has added an Airbus AS350B3 to its fleet. The acquisition marks an important milestone for the Tanzanian operator, which has been in business for more than two decades providing helicopter rescue and adventure tourism all over the country, as well as seamless emergency response and aerial excursions. The AS350B3 joins a fleet of three rotorcraft, strengthening Tropic’s capacity to serve adventure seekers, utility operations and critical aerial support services.

Over the past two years, the company has worked closely with TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks Authority) to provide world-class casualty evacuation services from Mount Kilimanjaro and other national parks. In 2023 and 2024 alone, Tropic Helicopters successfully carried out 291 mountain rescues on Kilimanjaro, ensuring climbers received rapid emergency assistance in the most challenging conditions.

The AS350B3 is renowned for its high-altitude performance, making it the ideal helicopter for rescue operations on Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and Tanzania’s remote landscapes. Its agility, power and reliability allow swift response times and safe extractions in extreme conditions.

Tropic Helicopters now supports high-altitude medical evacuations, helicopter safari experiences, aerial filming and photography and utility and conservation work. For its partners in tourism, conservation and emergency response, the expanded fleet means increased availability for high-altitude rescues and private charter flights, greater flexibility for aerial excursions and utility operations and enhanced safety and reliability for missions in challenging terrain.

As it continues to grow, Tropic Helicopters remains dedicated to providing the highest standard of aerial services, safety and professionalism. With 5H-IGH now in operation, it looks forward to working with its clients to enhance Tanzania’s helicopter experience and provide exceptional service across the region.
