Armasuisse has unveiled its new Global 7500 multi-mission aircraft, which will be used for government and military transport as well as emergency evacuation missions. Delivered by Bombardier Defense in December 2024, the aircraft will enter service with the Federal Air Transport Service (Lufttransportdienst des Bundes) in early 2025.

“The Global 7500 aircraft is a proven and versatile platform that has earned speed records, stood out as the highest performing in its class and has quickly become a customer favourite,” says Stephane Leroy, Armasuisse's vice president of sales. “Armasuisse's aircraft represents a significant milestone for Bombardier Defense, as it is the first Global 7500 configured for head of state multi-mission needs. With a range of 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 km) and a top speed of Mach 0.925, the Global 7500 will provide Swiss officials with increased transport capacity and operational flexibility. The aircraft’s Smooth Flĕx Wing enhances aerodynamic efficiency and passenger comfort while reducing fuel burn and emissions.

Since entering service in 2018, the Global 7500 has achieved a dispatch reliability of over 99.8% and has set more than 75 speed records. Bombardier Defense will provide ongoing engineering and operational support, ensuring the aircraft remains fully mission-ready.
